So Much Coming Up!

I hope everyone had a great summer! I can say I got away once or twice, and it was much needed.

I do need to apologize, as it’s been a while. What can I say, except that I’ve been busy cranking out some stuff for all of you to read. It’s been a busy couple months.

Starting off, Mess With the Bull is on CKP’s schedule, ready for launch on 10 September!

For those that caught “The Mushroom Farm” in the 4HU Gates of Hell anthology, Mess With the Bull picks up right where that left off, roughly four decades after the events in These Things We Do. Yes, Bull and company are old. You’ll just have to accept it.

It also picks up right after the events of “Blind Fury” from the Negotiation anthology. You’re just going to have to read this to understand how that ties in.

Better yet, for those who read “The Audition” from the In The Wings anthology, you’ll recognize one of the major characters.

Yes, I tie a lot together in this novel to tell you what Bull and friends were doing as the Omega War shifted to the Guild Wars. Mess With the Bull is the culmination of Bull’s battle with forces that have sought to destroy him and those like him since the time of the Alpha Contracts.

Pick it up September 10th!

Immediately to follow, Jamie Ibson and I have collaborated to bring you Unshackled, the story of the moon Bull “appropriated” in These Things We Do. Decades after he took the moon and re-named it Tambu, the Science Guild arrives, hunting for items they lost a century earlier. With the fleet and the defending forces falling like dominos, it’s up to Ruxandra (from Gunboat Diplomacy) a trio of Flatar (named exactly what Humans would name a trio of Flatar), and a group of Irregulators (some of the poor mercs who were subjected to experimentation by a nefarious Wrogul in “The Mushroom Farm”) to defend their home by any means necessary.

I’ll have a quick rundown, as told by Alvin the Flatar, at the “No Kidding, There I Was” panel at DragonCon.

Coming out 1 October.

Mess With the Bull and Unshackled join with Redacted Vice, Prodigal Son, and Chasing Hell to lead into the incredible, massive, much awaited culmination novel Harbinger by Kevin Ikenberry. Ikenberry, my great writing mentor, has beautifully brought all of our characters together for an incredible conclusion to the Rise of the Peacemaker series. So make sure you’re up to speed on all of the above when Harbinger releases on 29 October.

I have the honor to announce I was asked by Kevin Steverson, creator of the Salvage Title universe, to contribute a story for the It Takes More Kinds anthology, due out 25 October. “Salvage Angel” will tell the story of a driven pilot, the last of his kind, looking to create something Salvage system desperately needs. Harmon Tomeral has only one question for him- Why?

Next, I’m proud to announce that my story “Widow’s Feast” was selected for the first Talons and Talismans anthology from New Mythology Press. I tell the tale of a large, hungry spider who finds her way to WWI-esque trench lines in search of an endless buffet. Why would such a creature travel to one of the most dangerous landscapes of all time simply to find food? You’ll have to read it to find out. Look for it in October.

Yes, I’m still going! I told you I’ve been busy. I was also asked by Christopher Woods to contribute a Fallen World story for his next anthology. “Blue Falcon” is the tale of one of the Air Force Academy’s last graduates, flying a bomber for Teledyne the day the world falls. Spoiler- I blow up Colorado Springs, piecemeal and in great detail. Don’t ask, just read it. Coming out later this year.

Finally, Witch Hunt, the JTF-13 tale of US marines hunting the supernatural early in the Civil War should finally be arriving by the end of the year. Stay tuned!

For all those worried about what to do in the meantime (assuming you’ve already read the stories I listed above), check out the latest in the Four Horsemen Universe, written by Mark Wandrey, the creator himself, with an assist by Kacey Ezell, the person who ordered me to become a writer. Cartwright’s Cavaliers: Descent.

I hope I didn’t forget anything, but I think that’s all for now.

For anyone heading to DragonCon this year, I hope to see you there!
