In the near future, the United States collapses. Some saw it coming and developed a secret, long term plan. Some of those who were not apart of that plan saw it coming as well, but had to make their own arrangements. These are the harrowing tales of people surviving amidst and after the fall of the USA. My story is “My Fini Flight in the War Pig”, the tale of a C-130 pilot doing his duty to the last minute, and then enacting his own plan to rejoin his family–assuming they are waiting for him. Oh, and it opens with a MOAB.
My story is twinned with “One Last Road Trip” by Melissa Olthoff, the tale of several families making their way across a crumbling hellscape to where they hope to find safety.
